Plastic-Free Hatirjheel: A Journey Toward Environmental Responsibility

The “One-Time Plastic-Free Hatirjheel” project, implemented by OAB Foundation with support from ActionAid Bangladesh and British Council Bangladesh, is a community-based environmental initiative aimed at reducing plastic pollution in Hatirjheel, Dhaka. Through a structured program, the project identifies areas of excessive plastic usage, raises awareness among shop owners and community members, and promotes sustainable alternatives to single-use plastics. It seeks to foster collective responsibility and environmental stewardship, ensuring a cleaner, plastic-free urban space for future generations.
