OAB Green Climate Initiative: Empowering Young Minds, Sustaining Our Earth

The OAB Green Climate Initiative, organized by OAB Foundation in Rangpur Division with the support of OAB Learning Academy, is a youth-focused awareness program aimed at promoting environmental sustainability, climate action, and disaster preparedness. As part of this initiative, a special session was successfully conducted, bringing together youth leaders from more than 15 volunteer organizations across the Rangpur Division. The session focused on key issues such as environmental conservation, the adverse impacts of climate change, disaster risks and preparedness, and Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR). It also highlighted the critical role of young people in building a sustainable and climate-resilient future. The session was facilitated by climate change expert Asif Moinur Chowdhury, who provided in-depth insights into current environmental challenges and practical strategies for resilience and adaptation. Through interactive discussions and knowledge-sharing, participants gained a deeper understanding of how collective action can contribute to environmental protection and disaster risk reduction. The initiative encouraged youth leaders to take proactive roles in their communities by promoting awareness, adopting sustainable practices, and collaborating on climate and environmental actions. Participants expressed their commitment to working together toward building a greener, safer, and more resilient society. OAB Foundation strongly believes that awareness is the first step toward meaningful change. By empowering young minds, the initiative aims to inspire a new generation of leaders dedicated to protecting the environment and ensuring a sustainable future for all.
