The Climate Justice Assembly 2025: A Global Call for Action successfully united over 2,000 passionate participants, including 1,946 registered attendees, at Sher-E-Bangla Agricultural University in Dhaka.
The day began with a vibrant rally through Agargaon, where streets were filled with posters, placards, and banners carrying powerful messages of hope, resilience, and resistance against the climate crisis. The rally symbolized a collective demand for a just, equitable, and sustainable future.
The Assembly brought together participants from 13 countries, including Bangladesh, Australia, Germany, the United States, the United Kingdom, the Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand, China, Nepal, India, Pakistan, and Singapore. Environmental activists, researchers, youth leaders, experts, and community representatives gathered to exchange knowledge, share experiences, and strengthen global solidarity for climate justice.
The event was inaugurated by Sharmeen Murshid, Honorable Advisor to the Ministry of Social Welfare and the Ministry of Women and Child Affairs. Farida Akter, Honorable Advisor to the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock, attended as the Chief Guest in the opening session.
Throughout the Assembly, participants emphasized that climate justice transcends borders and requires coordinated local and global action. The discussions reinforced the urgency of addressing climate change through inclusive, equitable, and people-centered solutions.
