"On the occasion of National Road Safety Day 2025, OAB Foundation organized a special road safety awareness campaign in Uttara Azampur, Dhaka. Volunteers engaged with pedestrians and commuters to promote safe road behavior and raise awareness about traffic rules and accident prevention."
On 22 October 2025, marking National Road Safety Day 2025, OAB Foundation organized a special road safety campaign at Uttara Azampur in Dhaka.
The program began at 9:00 AM as a public awareness and outreach initiative led by OAB Foundation volunteers. The campaign focused on educating pedestrians and commuters about essential road safety practices, including the use of foot overbridges, avoiding mobile phone use while crossing roads, and following traffic rules responsibly.
Volunteers actively interacted with the public using awareness placards and direct communication, encouraging responsible behavior on roads. The initiative aimed to reduce road accidents by promoting safe movement practices and increasing public consciousness.
The campaign highlighted that road safety can only be ensured through collective responsibility and consistent awareness among all citizens. Each small action, such as wearing seatbelts, using helmets, and following traffic signals, plays a vital role in preventing accidents.
OAB Foundation has been consistently working in areas such as social development, climate action, women and child rights, education, health, and civic awareness. This road safety campaign is part of its ongoing efforts to build responsible citizenship among youth and communities.
The core message of the campaign emphasized:
“Aware citizens are the foundation of safe roads.”
OAB Foundation believes that continuous awareness initiatives like this will help create a stronger culture of road safety and contribute to a safer future for all.
