A school awareness campaign titled “School Awareness & Quiz Competition on Renewable Energy” was organized in Chattogram on 28 September 2026 as part of the Renewables Now campaign.
The initiative was jointly organized by OAB Foundation and Dhoritri Rokhhay Amra (DHORA) to increase awareness among students about renewable energy and encourage greater interest in clean and sustainable energy solutions.
The campaign was also organized in the context of Bangladesh’s stated target of meeting 20 percent of the country’s total electricity demand from renewable energy by 2030. By engaging students and young people, the initiative sought to strengthen awareness and encourage the next generation to take an active interest in the country’s clean energy transition.
As part of the campaign, an interactive awareness session was conducted for students. The session introduced the concept of renewable energy and discussed the use of solar power, the potential of clean energy, and the role of renewable energy in protecting the environment and addressing the impacts of climate change.
Students actively participated in the discussion and had the opportunity to raise questions, share their opinions, and explore different aspects of renewable energy and its relevance to their everyday lives and future.
The campaign also included a Fun Quiz and a Renewable Energy Poster Making Activity. These activities provided students with an engaging opportunity to test their knowledge of renewable energy while expressing their ideas and creativity around environmental protection and clean energy.
Following the quiz and poster-making activities, three winners were selected in recognition of their participation and performance.
The campaign was coordinated and led by Amrin Bushra Chowdhury, Chattogram Divisional Convener of OAB Foundation, and Md. Shakib Hossain, Co-Convener.
Through school-based awareness, interactive learning, and creative activities, OAB Foundation continues to engage young people in conversations around renewable energy, climate action, environmental protection, and sustainable development.
