"A Sectoral Consultation on Action for Climate Empowerment was held as part of the Pre-LCOY Bangladesh 2026 Cross-Sectoral Workshop at the United Nations House in Dhaka. The consultation brought together young people and stakeholders from different sectors to exchange perspectives, identify key priorities, and contribute to shaping Bangladesh’s Country Youth Position for LCOY Bangladesh 2026."
A Sectoral Consultation on Action for Climate Empowerment was organized as part of the Pre-LCOY Bangladesh 2026 Cross-Sectoral Workshop at the United Nations House in Dhaka.
The consultation provided a collaborative platform for young people and stakeholders from different sectors to exchange experiences, share ideas, and identify key priorities for climate action in Bangladesh. The discussions emphasized the importance of meaningful youth participation and inclusive approaches to climate empowerment.
The consultation represents an important step in the broader process of developing Bangladesh’s Country Youth Position for LCOY Bangladesh 2026. By bringing together diverse perspectives, the process aims to ensure that the position reflects the experiences, ideas, priorities, and aspirations of young people across different sectors and communities.
Action for Climate Empowerment is an important component of effective climate action, requiring greater awareness, education, participation, access to information, and opportunities for young people and communities to engage in climate solutions.
Hosted by Brighters Youth Network and supported by UNESCO, the consultation contributed to strengthening dialogue among young people and stakeholders and creating a pathway from meaningful consultation towards collective climate action.
Through such cross-sectoral engagement, young people are being provided with opportunities to contribute to national climate discussions and help shape a shared youth perspective ahead of LCOY Bangladesh 2026.
