OAB Foundation participated in the Youth Policy Workshop on Renewable Energy and Just Energy Transition, held on 8 October 2026 at Global Platform Bangladesh in Dhaka. The workshop was jointly organised by Shurjodoy Youth Society and Just Energy Transition Network Bangladesh (JETnet-BD).
Md Didarul Islam, Deputy Head of Fundraising at OAB Foundation, led and facilitated the workshop, supporting young participants in reviewing existing renewable energy policies, identifying gaps, and discussing practical recommendations for a more inclusive, accessible, and just energy transition in Bangladesh.
Through collaborative discussions and group work, participants contributed to the development of the Youth Demand Charter 2026. The process aimed to strengthen youth-led policy advocacy and highlight the importance of meaningful participation by young people, women, and marginalised communities in energy policy development and decision-making.
The workshop provided an important platform for young people to share their perspectives, exchange ideas, and develop policy demands that reflect the need for an equitable transition towards cleaner energy. It also reinforced the importance of ensuring that renewable energy policies are inclusive, accessible, and responsive to the needs of diverse communities.
As a newly joined member of JETnet-BD, OAB Foundation looks forward to strengthening collaboration with network partners, advancing youth-led policy advocacy, and promoting renewable energy solutions that support climate justice and sustainable development.
OAB Foundation remains committed to empowering young people to contribute to policy dialogue and to building a just, green, and sustainable energy future for Bangladesh.
