Child Safe Steps – School Campaign

On 18 February 2026, OAB Foundation, an organization working toward the implementation of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), successfully organized a school-based awareness campaign titled Child Safe Steps at Hakkani Mission Vidyapith and College in Mirpur, Dhaka. The program was conducted with the participation of Class 5 students and aimed to build awareness on child safety, health, hygiene, and fundamental human rights. The overall briefing of the campaign was delivered by Md. Shahanur Alam, Co-Lead, Program and Logistics, OAB Foundation. In the Health and Hygiene session, Fauzia Farhia, member of OAB Foundation, highlighted the importance of personal cleanliness, proper handwashing techniques, and developing healthy daily habits. She emphasized that health awareness is the first step toward a safe and secure future. In the Good Touch and Bad Touch session, Pragya, member of OAB Foundation, educated students on identifying safe and unsafe touch, self-protection strategies, and the importance of saying “no” firmly in uncomfortable situations. Students were encouraged not to remain silent and to report such incidents to trusted adults. In the HRBA (Human Rights Based Approach) session, Maimuna Rahman, Coordinator of Dhaka Division, raised awareness among students about their rights to education, safety, equality, and dignity. She also promoted values of responsibility, non-discrimination, and mutual respect. Through this campaign, OAB Foundation reaffirmed its commitment to building a safe, aware, and rights-conscious generation for a better future.
