"As part of the Renewables Now campaign, OAB Foundation and DHORA organised “Voices for Renewable Energy | Human Chain” in Gaibandha on 4 October 2026. In collaboration with Volunteer for Bangladesh Gaibandha District and Lal Sabuj Society, the initiative brought young people together to call for increased use of renewable energy, a transition to clean energy, and a sustainable energy future."
On 4 October 2026, young people gathered in Gaibandha to participate in “Voices for Renewable Energy | Human Chain,” an initiative under the Renewables Now campaign. Organised by OAB Foundation and Dhora (DHORA), in collaboration with Volunteer for Bangladesh Gaibandha District and Lal Sabuj Society, the human chain highlighted the importance of renewable energy in building a cleaner, safer, and more sustainable future.
Through awareness messages and slogans, participating youth called for greater use of solar, wind, and other renewable energy sources. Messages such as “We want renewable energy to build a sustainable future” and “Clean energy, a safer future” reflected their commitment to promoting clean energy solutions and reducing dependence on polluting energy sources.
The participants emphasised that prioritising renewable energy is essential for strengthening energy security, protecting the environment, and addressing the growing risks of climate change. They also highlighted the importance of active youth participation, public engagement, and collective action at the local level to accelerate the transition towards clean energy.
The human chain demonstrated how young people can contribute to raising public awareness and encouraging communities to support renewable energy development. Through this initiative, participants reaffirmed their commitment to a sustainable energy future powered by clean and renewable sources.
