World Environment Day 2026: Nationwide Tree Plantation Campaign Across 64 Districts Location: Nationwide (64 Districts of Bangladesh) Featured Event: Rangpur Press Club, Rangpur Organizer: OAB Foundation Campaign: Mission Green Bangladesh Theme: Plant Trees, Build a Greener Bangladesh Partners: World Vision Bangladesh (Rangpur District Implementation) Supported By: Various National and International Environmental and Development Organizations To celebrate World Environment Day 2026, OAB Foundation successfully implemented the nationwide campaign "Tree Plantation in 64 Districts in One Day" under the Mission Green Bangladesh initiative. The campaign mobilized thousands of young volunteers across Bangladesh to plant trees, organize human chains, and conduct environmental awareness activities, promoting climate action and sustainable development.
Organizer: OAB Foundation Project: Climate Innovation Cube – A Youth-Led Climate Learning Experience Zone Project Supported By: VSO Bangladesh and Ipas Bangladesh Short Details: OAB Foundation organized the Intergenerational Dialogue on Climate Resilience at the Department of Environment in Dhaka, bringing together young leaders, government officials, climate experts, civil society organizations, NGOs, and grassroots representatives. The dialogue highlighted the importance of combining the energy of youth with the experience of senior generations to build a climate-resilient and sustainable Bangladesh. The event was organized under the Climate Innovation Cube – A Youth-Led Climate Learning Experience Zone Project with support from VSO Bangladesh and Ipas Bangladesh.
The National Biodiversity & Climate Conference 2025 brought together researchers, environmental and health experts, youth leaders, policymakers, and civil society representatives to discuss biodiversity conservation, climate action, and environmental pollution. Strategically partnered by OAB Foundation, the conference emphasized the importance of scientific collaboration, youth participation, and collective action in building a sustainable and climate-resilient Bangladesh.
The Bangladesh BioDiversity Summit 2025 is a national initiative that will bring together environmental leaders, policymakers, researchers, green entrepreneurs, youth activists, conservationists, students, and civil society representatives to address the growing threats to Bangladesh's biodiversity. The two-day summit will promote knowledge sharing, collaboration, and innovative, community-driven solutions for biodiversity conservation, climate resilience, and sustainable development.
OAB Foundation Joins World Environment Day 2026 Citizens' Gathering to Advocate for Renewable Energy On the occasion of World Environment Day 2026, OAB Foundation participated in the "Renewable Energy Now" citizens' gathering, mime performance, and poster distribution campaign at Shyamoli Park, Dhaka. The event called for a just transition to renewable energy and stronger climate action to ensure a sustainable future for Bangladesh.
On 24 June 2025, a symbolic protest gathering and awareness program were held at Shyamoli Park Ground in Mohammadpur, Dhaka, demanding an end to Japanese private investment in coal and LNG projects in Bangladesh. The event was organized in response to ongoing investments by Japanese financial institutions and energy companies in fossil fuel-based energy projects across Bangladesh and other Asian countries. The gathering called upon Japanese banks and corporations to stop financing coal and gas projects and instead support Bangladesh’s transition to renewable and sustainable energy systems.
