A Sectoral Consultation on Action for Climate Empowerment was held as part of the Pre-LCOY Bangladesh 2026 Cross-Sectoral Workshop at the United Nations House in Dhaka. The consultation brought together young people and stakeholders from different sectors to exchange perspectives, identify key priorities, and contribute to shaping Bangladesh’s Country Youth Position for LCOY Bangladesh 2026.
A National Workshop on Country Youth Position for COP31 was held on 15 September 2026 to bring together community perspectives from six climate-vulnerable regions of Bangladesh and strengthen a unified national youth voice for COP31. Organized by Brighters in collaboration with 30 partner youth organizations, with support from the Department of Environment (Climate Wing), the workshop focused on translating grassroots experiences into a nationally endorsed Country Youth Position.
A national dialogue titled “Pursuing Climate Justice Through Climate Diplomacy” was held in Dhaka on 15 September 2026, bringing together climate experts, diplomats, and civil society representatives to discuss Bangladesh’s priorities ahead of the 81st United Nations General Assembly (UNGA 81) and COP31. Speakers emphasized stronger coordination, accessible climate finance, Loss and Damage, a just transition, gender-responsive policies, and greater civil society and youth engagement in Bangladesh’s international climate diplomacy.
The month-long ‘Renewables Now’ campaign was launched on 12 September 2026 to promote renewable energy, strengthen energy security, reduce dependence on imported energy, and support a clean, just, and sustainable energy future for Bangladesh. Led by Waterkeepers Bangladesh and Dhoritri Rokhhay Amra (DHORA), the campaign brings together 37 civil society and social organizations working collectively to advance the country’s renewable energy transition.
OAB Foundation organized a day-long Training on Climate Leadership: Renewable Energy & Advocacy Campaign in Birampur, Dinajpur, with the collaboration of Youth for CARE and The Earth Society. The training focused on Climate Action, Environment, Renewable Energy, Clean Air, and Advocacy Campaign, aiming to strengthen young people’s knowledge, leadership, advocacy, and capacity to take meaningful climate action at the local level.
OAB Foundation organized the Conscious Children, Safe Future child awareness programme at Ramkrishnapur Government Primary School in Birampur, Dinajpur. The programme focused on personal safety, good touch and bad touch awareness, and personal hygiene. Through storytelling, discussions, graffiti, and practical activities, children learned how to recognize unsafe situations, protect themselves, and maintain healthy hygiene practices.
