A Pre-LCOY Cross-Sectoral Workshop, supported by UNICEF Bangladesh, brought together young people and cross-sectoral stakeholders to reflect on the outcomes and discussions of SB64, identify Bangladesh’s key climate priorities, and contribute to the development of the Bangladesh Country Youth Position for COP31. Hosted by BRIGHTERS in collaboration with the Co-organizers of LCOY Bangladesh 2026, including OAB Foundation, the workshop connected global climate negotiations with Bangladesh’s local realities and youth priorities.
A community courtyard meeting titled “Community Awareness on Renewable Energy” was held at Harinchhara Majher Char in Lalmonirhat on 28 September 2026 as part of the Renewables Now campaign. Organized by OAB Foundation and Dhoritri Rokhhay Amra (DHORA), the initiative engaged local residents in discussions on renewable energy, solar power, its practical benefits, and opportunities for expanding clean energy use at the community level.
A school awareness campaign titled “School Awareness & Quiz Competition on Renewable Energy” was held in Chattogram on 28 September 2026 as part of the Renewables Now campaign. Organized by OAB Foundation and Dhoritri Rokhhay Amra (DHORA), the initiative aimed to increase students’ awareness of renewable energy, encourage interest in clean energy, and promote youth engagement in building a sustainable energy future.
A participatory awareness activity titled “Renewable Energy River Action” was held at Jatrapur Char in Kurigram on 29 September 2026 as part of the Renewables Now campaign. Organized by OAB Foundation and Dhoritri Rokhhay Amra (DHORA), the activity engaged local riverine communities in raising awareness about renewable energy, clean energy, environmental protection, and the importance of collective action for a sustainable future.
A human chain was held in Dhaka as part of the Global Week of Action, calling for climate justice, an end to new fossil fuel projects and financing, and a rapid and just transition to renewable energy. The action was organized by 42 civil and social organizations, including Waterkeepers Bangladesh.
The LCOY Bangladesh 2026 Organizing Committee held a meeting at the United Nations House in Dhaka, bringing together the Contact Point, Leads, Co-Leads, and other Organizing Committee members to discuss upcoming activities and collective preparations for LCOY Bangladesh 2026.
